Do Ink Tags Really Work?
11/6/2011
What actually happens when an ink tag is forcibly removed from retail mechandise?
In order for ink tags to provide the maximum possible shoplifting deterrence, they must do exactly what they are supposed to do. They must permanently ruin the retail merchandise they are attached to when tampered with. They must deny the shoplifter the benefit of the stolen merchandise after it has been unlawfully removed from the store. Otherwise, shoplifters wouldn't be deterred.
Do all ink tags do what they are supposed to do? The answer is that some don't work at all and others work to a certain extent. We can guarantee the effectiveness of our ink tags, because of the design of the ink tag and our patented exterior breakage panel. When our ink tags are tamperred with, the exterior breakage panel disengages from the ink tags outer shell, breaks the ink ampules, and pushes the ink out of the sheel and onto the garment. The video above shows how the exterior breakage panel works when someone tries to get one of our ink tags off a garment.
